Install on existing vBulletin

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find instructions on integrating Photopost PHP Pro into my existing vbulletin 3.6.4 forum.

Help?

Marco

Just follow the instructions carefully and it's easy. I did exactly what you want to do at my forums at http://www.getthehiv.com.

Where are the instructions? By "just do an upgrade" do you mean using Impex?

One concern i have is that the Photopost PHP Pro files have some filenames that are exactly the same as my vBulletin files, and i don't want to overwrite a file and cause my forums to go down (even though i'm keeping a backup)... i'm looking for a smooth installation-integration of phoptopost into my existing vBulletin, basically. I'll need to know which files are supposed to be overwritten and which ones to modify.

Any help with reasonably detailed instructions is greatly appreciated!

You don't do an upgrade.

Upload the Photopost files into a sub directory such as gallery or whatever you want to call it. There are no files to overwrite in vBulletin. Simply upload the photopost files, edit the two config files it tells you two and run the install.php. Then you set the folder write permissions and run the install script.

You then go into the Photo Post admin panel and set up the vBulletin integration.

You don't have Photo Post installed already so you don't upgrade anything.

Oh ok, thanks a lot for that info, hex!

What a lifesaver... i thought that these files might have to be uploaded in the same directory structure as vBulletin.

I think that's all i need to know then, thanks again so much!

Oh and don't forget to install the database into the same database as your vB database. This makes integrating alot easier. Photopost will use use the PP prefix so databse files are not overwritten.
