Migration was a disaster!

Hi all,

I have just migrated my website to a new server (with the help of the new webhost) and, although the rest of my website went pretty smoothly, we are having some issues with my Photopost.

It appears that I have comments but NO PHOTOS! It is showing 0 photos in every category. There should have been over 1400 photos.

I am also receiving the following errors when logging in to the Photopost CP:

Warning: opendir(/photopost/data/) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-inc.php on line 588

Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-inc.php on line 591

Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-inc.php on line 608

Because my thumbnails were not showing up, I tried to rebuild them and received the following message for EACH of the 1450 photos that I should have.

Checking photo #1:
Warning: fopen(/photopost/data/500/thumbs/index.htm) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-misc.php on line 1429

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-misc.php on line 1430

Warning: fopen(/photopost/data/500/medium/index.htm) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-misc.php on line 1437

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-misc.php on line 1438

Warning: fopen(/photopost/data/500/mini/index.htm) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-misc.php on line 1445

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/adm-misc.php on line 1446
image /photopost/data/500/Shorts.jpg not found, removing from database... done.

Can someone possibly point me in the right direction so that I may pass this info on to my new webhosting company. As I am a total novice with this stuff, they are taking care of it for me.

Thanks so much!
Sherry

You have no photos because your server paths where wrong and you tried rebuilding thumbs which deleted your sql inserts because it doesnt find any photos

Have you host transfer or restore the photos sql table and then you can sign into admin and correct your data and uploads server paths in global options and save. Then go to storage options and hit revert and save twice to pick up the new paths

That should be all you need to do. Your issues where just caused because you had not changed the server paths to the new ones so nothing can be found.

Thanks Chuck! That worked great.

I have just one issue remaining. Although all photos and thumbnails are present, Photopost is saying that there are no photos under the Photo and Last Photo Upload columns. Is there a way to correct this?

Hmm, another error while trying to upload.

Warning: move_uploaded_file(/home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/uploads/1/Picture_049.jpg) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/image-inc.php on line 46

Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/tmp/php0On1bb' to '/home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/uploads/1/Picture_049.jpg' in /home/stamkcom/public_html/photopost/image-inc.php on line 46

You need to set your uploads and data directory at every level to 777

Your post should be able to do a recursive permissions change for you on those directories

Any other hints we need an explicit url to your install

I've run into the same problem right now after a server move. I think I have changed all server paths but in the admin cp I'm still getting this error:

Warning: opendir(/home/www/mysite/galleries/data/): failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /home/7/f/e/16430/16430/public_html/galleries/adm-inc.php on line 588

Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home/7/f/e/16430/16430/public_html/galleries/adm-inc.php on line 591

Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home/7/f/e/16430/16430/public_html/galleries/adm-inc.php on line 608

It still has the old server path (/home/www/mysite/galleries/data/ somewhere but I can't find out where... Can anyone point me into the right direction?

How to Move Servers and/or Change Directories

This should help. I think you forgot to change the path in storage options in admin. Go to storage options hit revert and save twice to load the new path.

You are a freaking life-saver, Chuck!!!! I migrated my site to a new server.. and well, I probably didn't do it the *right* way (after reading the migration instructions) but so far everything seems to be working...! Especially after that last tid-bit of advice. I love you Chuck!!!!

Thanks again,
Mel
