Stuck on step 4

Fresh PhotoPost PHP Pro install 5.62.

New test vBulletin 3.6.4 board is running. I’m learning before I move the real board from phpBB.

I’m trying to integrate PhotoPost with vBull.

I’d like to keep their back ends separate though.

I seem to be connecting fine to the new PhotoPost database I created, I see the script creating tables.

I pass steps 1 -3 and get to Step 4, External User Registration. Once I populate the values and click to move to step 5 - I get a blank screen on my IE 7. We come to a halt, game over.

In step 4 - I started with VB3 forum integration option, tried playing with bb forum cookie prefix, even tried vbV2.x integration option (instructions say do that?), no go.

I narrowed it down to either a problem with my host server setting, or I’m putting some value somewhere wrong.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well it has to be either of those two either hosting server issue or inputting wrong info that is causing the hosting server's php to go ballistic.

Is there any hints in the HOSTING error log that would assist us here? Selecting vb2 would not be correct unless you have vb2

I would suggest looking at your vb3 config file and ensure on the config and step 4 all the proper database info mysql prefix cookie prefix are entered and try again selecting vb3 and continue. Please then try getting any errors and post them here so we can assist.

Well – my hosting provider generates access/errors logs the following day. And for some reason, the logs for yesterday have not been generated… Not yet. So I may have that tomorrow.

I figured out what the problem was - I had a missing quote on one side of the path string in conf-int.php for the "$pppath =" variable. My bad, sorry. I'm good now.

PS.

Not trying to be a smart ass, just a suggestion that you should modify the wording for the following section of PhotoPost PHP Pro Installation doc to add VB3...

http://www.photopost.com/installphp.html

Step 4 will prompt you for some server configuration information, and our script tries to guess as to your server's settings. Please don't assume that the defaults are correct, double check them. If you are using PhotoPost with a forum, note that the following forum versions correspond with the selections in the drop down box (those using PhotoPost's internal registration system can ignore this):

2.2.0 = All vBulletin versions v2.2.0 and newer
2.0.3 = vBulletin versions between 2.0.3 and v2.2.0 (not including 2.2.0)
phpBB2 = phpBB 2.0+ (RC versions not supported)
UBBThreads v6 = UBB Threads versions 6.x
DCForums = DCForums 1.2
InvisionBoard = IPB 1.1.1

Thanks Chuck!!!
