Upload error - Write error, broken pipe

Hi all,

I have a few members receiving this error message when attempting an upload. I am using Imagemagick. Photopost is integrated with Vbportals and vbulletin. Php safemode is off, max_execution time = 30, max_input_time=60, and memory_limit = 32M.

The system is set up to allow images up to 2049x1537 image size and 30,960kB in filesize.

Users can upload single images as long as they are under 1024x768 image size and under 512kB. Anytime they reach either of these limits the system gives an error. See attached.

Does anyone know where I can dig to find this problem?

Thats a server error definately and have never seen anything like that as this is not caused by the software. Basically your server is closing connection on upload. I don't really have much I can offer you except to talk with your host to find out what is happening server side. Does this happen with GD2 as your processor.

Hi Chuck, thanks for the reply. Yes, this is certainly odd behavior and I've never seen it before. Perhaps a hardware problem or OS compilation issue. I'm not sure where to go with it. I'll ask my server host to run some hardwarer tests on the box.

I was using GD2, but, there were problems there as well. Mostly related to non-response after a large upload. I switched to Imagemagick because I thought it would help. Unfortunately not! Looks like I'll have to do some additional homework.

Yeah most of the things I am reading suggest it is a problem with the Operating System Linux
