Search different now...

We have had a lot of complaints about how the search is shown now compared to what it was before we upgraded.

Before when you did a search, it would show all the thumbs, from right to left. Now when you do search, it shows the thumbs in the left column and description in the right column.

We have also lost a ton of functionality with the search screen. Before you could view by gallery, thumbnails, thumbnails with titles, group by members, and puzzle.. and you could also pick the # per page to see.

We would like it back to the way it was before the upgrade. How do we go about doing this?

Sorry this is nothing I could post here as it not one line or something where I could help ya out.

You would need to compare the 5.5 scripts to the 5.62 and revert things. Good topic for you to bring up in the mod corner

I don't have the time to compare 5.5 to 5.62 nor is it my job to do so.

Typically one does not remove functionality from an existing product and make it less functional, but that's exactly what has been done here, which is very disappointing. It would be nice to see future versions given back the functionality you folks have taken away.

The functionality was changed to allow for growth and because many of our users needed the optimization as their sites have grown; while the search function was fine for smaller sites, the way we did it was not so nice for medium to large offerings. Caching the search results so that they can be browsed without doing a new search every page load is but one way to reduce the load on the server.

So you are working on a better way of putting the functionality back into search?

Search different

Has anyone figured out yet how to change the search back to the old way? I didn't realize or see anything about this change prior to upgrading - and my users *hate* the new search!! I am actually loosing customers over it!
