Can't post photos

Working one minute, not working the next. We're not getting any error messages, but after you select your photo to upload, the screen advances and says it's uploaded successfully, then goes to the chosen gallery but the photo is not there.
Any thoughts?

Nevermind and sorry for posting. It's working now, must've been the server.
Thanks anyway.

OK, now it's NOT working again. I just don't get it. We managed to upload a few layouts and it quit working again. It just flashed through the pages with nothing there.

No, our sizes are set at 125 kb and 500x500 pixels. Our gallery has been up since April. I should've put that in my original post. Nothing has changed in admin and it has done this on and off several times today.

We do have a new Forum installed (but not live yet). Our forum and gallery are linked. Could this be causing problems??

Okay well the only other thing to check off the top of my head is two things before contacting your host to see what the server issue is

1. Is safe mode set to on or file uploads off in phpinfo in admin when you check?

2. Did you delete your server's cgi-bin directory? I know one user on powweb where this happened to them by the server people and they could not upload.

Yes so you need to check the cgi-bin as I noted and then contact your host.

Chuck,

I am having the same issue when trying to upload. The CGI BIN is there but there is nothing in it. Is it supposed to be empty?

Nevermind. I'm guessing the php.ini file needs to be there.

We have noticed that if we put too many characters in the description field on the upload photo page (1st screen), that it causes us to never be able to finish the upload process so we have reverted to just picking the file, then on the second page where it shows the preview, we enter the rest of the info. We are running 5.5.

You can try upgrading but I can tell you that if your putting the description on uploadphoto and it is passed to bulkupload depending on your server specs the uri request limit is only a certain size so real large descriptions can not be used.
