Unhappy Cookies and not being able to log in

Okay, so I screwed up. Getting tired of me saying that yet? Me too... (*sighs*)

I was fiddling with the cookie settings in an effort to fix a problem where people were being logged out of the gallery every time they switched to my phpBB2 forums, and now it won't let me log in at all.

It's recognising my username and password, it shows me "login successful" and all that jazz, but then the index loads up and I'm not logged in at all... as the only admin at this point, this is tres perplexing.

I've reuploaded all the .php in the main folder to see if that would fix the problem, but no gratis.

Help?

(posted in both threads)
That's what I was trying to to last night... but now it won't let me log in at all, so I can't get to the admin control panel.

Can I reupload one of the files from the original photopost download to correct this?

I checked the forum's cookie settings:

Cookie Domain: (blank)
Cookie Name: phpbb_scrapnook
Cookie Path: /

By your response in the other thread, should I be setting the domain to:
.www.thescrappingnook.fastsecureservers.com
or
.thescrappingnook.fastsecureservers.com
or
Just leaving at .domain.com

?

And of course, I can't get into the Photopost admin gallery yet, so I need to figure out that too.

By the by, big thanks for your help thus far, Chuck.

Your users are always going to have to login separately to the forum and photopost if they are hosted on different domains

Try running in phpmyadmin for photopost this

UPDATE pp_settings SET setting='/' WHERE id=171;
UPDATE pp_settings SET setting='phpbb_scrapnook' WHERE id=172;
UPDATE pp_settings SET setting='' WHERE id=173;

They're hosted on the same domain; the problem was that when they switched windows from the forum to the gallery, they were being logged out of the gallery.

I'm googling phpmyadmin cos I have no idea about php (complete newbie here, let's see what else I can screw up).

OKay, so I got into phpmyadmin, got into the pp_settings table;
171's the cookie path, and was set to /
172's the cookie prefix, and was set to phpbb2mysql
173's the cookie domain, and was set to .yourdomain.com

I changed 173 to blank and it's letting me log in again. Woot! Chuck FTW!

Now that we've got that little nightmare resolved (seriously Chuck, PM me your address and I'll mail you some Christmas chocolate), which field should I be changing, and to what, to stop people from being logged out when I switch between the forums and the gallery?

what did you originally set the domain name too?

.fastsecureservers.com

.thescrappingnook.fastsecureservers.com

Have you tried those?

Tried both, to no avail as yet.

Hopefully we'll have our primary url soon (thescrappingnook.ca) and I can get it to work with that.
