| phpbb2 Logout problem
Hi, I have installed PhotoPost on a shared server. I have linked it to my phpbb Forum, for login purposes. However, I find that if I am logged into the Forum, then log into my PhotoPost site, I am logged out of my Forum (Separate windows or tabs...) If I log into my PhotoPost site, then into my Forum, the PhotoPost site seems to remain logged in..... If I log out of the PhotoPost site, it also logs out of the Forum too. But if I have both logged in, then log out of the Forum, it leaves PhotoPost logged in.
Is this normal, or is something wrong?

I would suggest you check your cookies and ensure both phpbb and photopost are set the same way
cookie path /
cookie prefix phpbb2mysql
cookie domain .domain.com

Had the same problem here, but the paths and cookies were absolutely equal. So now I patched PhotoPost to open phpBB2 login page and redirect back. No problems, and users are happy.

| I just did an upgrade to the latest
but I forgot the login or templet files required to redirect to phpbb login page.
Can someone give me the forum links.
I've been searching here for about an hour.
Thanks in advance.

CheDo
I also am having trouble with Photopost accepting the phpbb logins. Cookies in phpbb and photopost are setup identical. There does seem to be a problem with integration here. I like the idea of the login patch. How did you do it?

If your cookies are set to as noted above you should not have any issue if your photopost is integrated with the phpbb login

Chuck,
Can I pm you a test admin login to see why Photopost does not recognize my phpbb logins? I am sure the cookies are set right. Thanks

Login under the forum http://www.pickupslimited.com/phpbb
Here is a regular user login: 56 tester
password: test
I will e-mail support with an admin login
Now I seem to be having trouble logging on as admin under photopost
Thanks

Your cookies are not set as in my first post. You have your phpbb cookie path set to /phpbb
As I have noted in my original reply both your phpbb and photopost cookie settings need to be this
cookie path /
cookie prefix phpbb2mysql
cookie domain .pickupslimited.com

Chuck, All cookie settings are the same now in both phpbb and photopost as you said.
Something I found that was strange is that when I use different admin logins in phpbb then go to the photopost galleries, I am not always recognized as being logged in on photopost. However, if I check the "Log me on automatically each visit" in the phpbb forum, it always seems to work in both the phpbb and photopost. Is that normal?
Thanks for all your help

You are suppose to check that box to create a cookie. Photopost works with a cookie. If you dont create one you dont have a cookie and are not logged into photopost. Also if you would like support please put unmodified photopost files on your server because your login is not right still and your forwarding it to phpbb and we can not see how Photopost is handling things

Same problem with nuke integration. All settings are correct like you describe Chuck. I've past two days to check what's wrong but only solution is to patch files. User can login throw PP or Nuke but when they logout, they keep connected.

That just means you dont have your cookies aligning properly. If you hit logout the cookies if they are aligned will delete. I would suspect your creating slightly different cookies in both products.

If I'm login into nuke, I'm connected in Photopost.
If I'm login into Photopost, I'm connected into Nuke.
Problem is made on logout. Logout from Photopost or Nuke keep user connected.

Cant say but sounds like something is not right. You need to look at the cookies created by both login process to determine what your issue might be. Make sure also to delete cookies in your browser before doing any testing. |
