There are two things to consider

1. Make sure Imagemagick is compiled and working

2. Make sure your data directories and uploads directories AT EVERY LEVEL are set to 777 permissions

Had the same problem the day before yesterday and ....
Check if you have all the folders in your gallery folder. I created manually folder "500" and under "500" folder "thumbs" and "medium" and after that everything was OK.

Hope that helps

my host replied with this.

Yes, I'd done a chmod recursively, i.e., perms of each and every file under the data dir has been set to 0777.

what else can this be?

Those are vbulletin files my friend not photopost files so that gets passed to vb support

Try seeing if your uploads work if you set your image processor in global options to GD2

my gallery moderator just sent me this.

we've lost thousands of pics in the gallery. It appears to have affected the members gallery so far.

HAHA420 has lost nearly 60 pics
JEFFSGIRL has lost 30 or so
madamecrash lost 40-50

& if I look farther the list would go on. There seems to be no limitation to dating as I'm sure some of the galleries mentioned date back months if not yrs.

I'm reluctant to start deleting everyones members pics w/o knowing if a recovery of the images is possible.

I'm going to search the rest of the gallery thoroughly to see where else we might be askew.

Your Imagemagick on that server is your issue and your host could surely recompile imagemagick for you. As far as your watermarks just make sure if your server paths changed you also update your server path to the watermark.

it seems they fixed the problem on our gallery...
here is his reply

The issue is fixed now.. The upload works fine. The problem was not with the ImageMagick or any other installations on the server. It were some of the commands being used in your scripts that are not compatible with the new versions of packages and libraries on the new server and hence were keeping us from uploading and creating thumbnails successfully... They've been corrected now..

Sorry no I don't. Hosts can lock down many many things. Locking down exec can mess with Imagemagick for example.
