Photos do not land in Category

Just installed.
First Upload photo tests, I get a javascript error:
albumsel.value is null or not an object.

Also the photos do not post to the Selected Category.
They upload, but they don't seem to be in any category.
They do wind up in a Member Gallery
(but the Personal Galleries list is empty.)

What I would like is Just a single category (for now) Called skiboarding photos. If members want to view member galleies then fine.

I can add more categories later, but I fear that if all photos are being uploaded without a category, I will be in trouble later.

Please help.

Bill

what version of the software you using? have you created personal albums. They upload to the members gallery if you do not select a cat from the drop down list to upload to thats the default

Using the latest --

I downloaded today.
So I guess thats photopost55.zip

I did select from the dropdown each time
Could the javascript error mentioned above have possibly prevented my choice from reaching the server script?

Did I select some option on install which caused the java error. I would guess if this happened to everyone, that you would have heard of it already.

Hi Chuck... I'm having problems where members are uploading straight to the members category. Now I uderstand that if they have not created an album and upload the pictures will end up in this category.... any way to reject those images and force them to either upload to album or create album.

Users can only upload where you give them a place to upload.

Have you created other categories?

Personal albums you can not force users to create they either do or not. You have control over what categories users upload to through permissions in edit categories.

In the long run if a user picks a category to upload to thats the category the user uploads to. They are given the category drop down box to pick a cat on upload. The program does require some human interaction there. You cant make users pick one specific place etc unless of course you only give them one choice. If they have multiple places to upload they need to choose one. The members gallery is the default because that shows all a users photos.

Yeah its all about what you do and how you set things since things are highly configurable.
