EXIF and PHP

OK here's the issue

I recently changed servers and my new server provider does not provide jhead for exif however they do support it as part of php5.

They have informed me to look at http://uk.php.net/manual/en/ref.exif.php for a work around.

I have followed what I believe to be the answer which is to put

--enable-exif


into a php.ini file and have placed that in my galley folder on the server - I have then instructed PP to rescan photos and save EXIF information but still no exif data shows.

I am now at a dead end - can anyone help?

Our application only used jhead since PHP's EXIF has always been riddled with security issues.

You need to compile jhead on your server

Yeah if you have access to edit the PHP you have access to compile software
