Upgrading to 5.5 with UBBthreads 7.0 - Database Issue

I am just trying to install/upgrade the photopost on the site in which i have just recently upgraded to ubbthreads 7.0 as well.

I have made the changes needed to the config files and went to the upgrade script, and when i click the link to do the upgrade from my last version, the screen simply says "I cannot connect to the Members database. []"

This comes after i tried using the old 4.86 version with the 7.0 threads and got database user table issues at that time too. (I thought the newest verison of photopost would resolve any possible configuration changes with 7.0 to photopost.. I guess i may have been mistaken?)

Is there an issue using the new threads 7.0 with the latest version (or any version for that matter) of photopost?

please advise on how to resolve this. thanks.

If you get an error you can not connect to the members database you need to ensure you have entered the proper ubbthreads database info. If this is an install you must delete threads7 on install

The only issue posted here is just one of you posting the wrong database info

I have done installs and upgrades with photopost using the threads user database from way back on photopost ver306... I have years of experience doing this and I assure you the database settings in the conf file are correct. I have checked and re-checked the database name, servername, username and passwords in an OCD like manner.

"I cannot connect to the Members database. []"

That is an absolute error. That says your database info in the config-inc.php file for the user database is incorrect until you get past that there is nothing more I can say here.

Photopost works with ubbthreads 7 example here and several other users have upgraded

http://www.omegatron.net/photos

I can tell you once you get past that issue there are several steps you need to do as you need to switch integrations if this is an upgrade. Once you upgrade your photopost to the lastest code. You need to do this

1. make sure the config has the database info for ubbthreads 7 if it changed

2. update your settings table setting 41 and 83 with the proper integration type and mysql table prefix of ubb7 as these will have changed to threads7 and ubbt_ instead of threads and w3t_ that a normal threads would have.

3. You need to download the userfix script from the photopost import forum to realign photo userid's since I beleive the ubbthreads7 upgrade script changes user's userid's like vb's impex script does which is why we created that script in the first place.

Could I trouble you to point us to that script?

Reassign userid's when switching integrations to VBulletin

It can be used on any forum integration we support it simply gets the userid from the forum user table based off the users username.

Now realize it is not meant to be used in integrations where users will not exist in the forum table. This is meant to be used when someone switches integrations like going from another forum to vbulletin using there impex script where vb's import script reassigns userid's or as found out in ubbthreads 7 new upgrade script it imports the users and reassigns userid's since it redoes your tables.

Is there any step by step instructions to getting photopost going from the older versions of ubbthreads to the 7.0?

I know for a fact the config-inc.php DB info is correct. Its right there in front of me, and perfectly clear. So I tihnk the issue is the miss-matching table info you mentioned i needed to edit in the photopost settings... (w3t_ etc)

"We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later. "

I'll have to search for the answer for this one now i suppose... argh

Now I see your issue even clearer your trying to do alot more than just upgrade. As stated the error you posted here means the database information is incorrect thats an absolute. If it where a matter of a missing table or something like that you would get an entirely different error.

Ok, so like i said, i got the DB working. It no long comes up with the DB error...

This is a seperate issue. The upgrade scripts are not working right. Again, my challenge stands.. Please email me for my login info so you can give it a try. I am sure you will find it doesnt work either. (Or you will need to do something else.)
