New Install But Getting Errors (No Thumb and 141 on upload)

Hello,

I tried to search for an answer before I posted this because I'm sure it's probably something I've just overlooked but I couldn't figure it out.

I'm trying to install a fresh install on a new site but I'm having errors.

When I try to upload it gives me the following:
Quote:
Warning: imagegif(): Unable to open '/usr/home/wood/public_html/showcase/data/500/thumbs/equip.gif' for writing in /showcase/image-inc.php on line 141
error.gif

Also, once I get past that screen I can see the image but no thumb nail shows up.

Any ideas?

well it looks to me like a path issue. In global options ensure your data and uploads paths are correct full paths. Verify this looking at your phpinfo to get the true path. You can save and then go to storage options to load the true paths by hitting revert and save twice.

Hey Chuck, thanks for the help.

I looked at another copy of photopost that was on another site on the same server and copied all of settings.
Now I'm a little further along but still not getting the thumbnails.

... it hangs on line 302 of image-inc.php which says:
Quote:
copy ( $filepath, $outthumb );
Is that a premissions issue or still a file location issue?

Finally was able to copy it before it went to the next screen.

Quote:
Warning: copy(/usr/home/wood/public_html/showcase/data/500/thumbs/logo.gif): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /showcase/image-inc.php on line 302
Once again.. the file uploads but the thumbnail does not work.

As I have previously noted check that your permissions are 777 at every level under the data directory and your server path to the data directory is correct. You can grab the correct path under your phpinfo link in admin

Fixed... thanks.

I didn't drill down far enough into the data folder when I was setting the 777 permissions.

Thanks
