Upgrade from 4.86 to 5.5

I recently did an upgrade from 4.86 to 5.5 and none of my images are showing up... I did a rescan of the database and it isn't finding my photos.

When I login to my admin it shows the following:
Image Space Used 0.0 mb
Total Photos 0
Total disk space used by the DATA directory 808.81 mb
Number of Albums 2

The images are in the in the 500 folder, but how can I get them to appear in the site? Is this a permissions problem? I notcied that some files/folder under the 500 directory are owned by 'nobody' or 'apache' or 'root'. I set the permissions to the data folder 777

Please help!

Thanks in advance,
BobII

You can restore a copy of the photopost database photos table and run upgrade.php once through every step

I didn't make a backup of the database before I ran the upgrade script. What other options do I have?

If you have no mysql backup you have no options.

This is exactly the reason why the upgrade instructions state to take a mysql backup. Upgrade 485 changes filenames and that upgrade from the errors your providing was not ran or ran twice which resulting in filenames not being as they should and then you ran a scan database which is a powerful tool. If a photo can not be found then the insert is removed from the database which is where you are at now.

My DB is well over 1gb... It's not the easiest task to do...

Ok, so what do I need to do at this point? Delete the directories, re-upload the the installation files and run install.php? How do I get this software to work again? I have all the photos...

All you need to do now is reupload all the files again. I dont think you want to delete your categories and such do you. You might need to delete all comments using phpmyadmin empty the comments table since the photos are gone

after that just reupload photos one at a time or by bulkupload to the specific cats you want

where should I upload all the photos to? What directory? They all still have the 'userID' prefix on them, by doing a bulkupload, will that create new galleries for each userID?

Thanks in advance for you help!

No you uploading photos means they are uploaded by you. You can bulkupload them from the data directory they are in and they will be recreated but all owned by you. There is no way to get things back the way they where since you dont have all the old info. You might want to check with your host to see if they have an sql backup
