Certain length description causes error

Follow the following

Go to http://www.gottapixel.com/gallery with INTERNET EXPLORER (this issue is ONLY in IE)
Login:
User: techlady
password: iambroken

Upload a Photo. We have a 150K and 600x600 pixel cap on photos.

1. Pick a photo to upload.
2. Enter in the following text into the description area.

Quote:
Subtitle:
Pictures taken of the First Day of school - September 5th, 2006. Girl #4 age 13 * Girl age 8 * Girl #2 age 3 * Girl #3 6 months

Journaling:
Girl #4, you have grown into a beautiful young woman, everyday I thank God that you are mine. We've had tough times, bad times but more than not we have had womderful times together. You truly are a delight to parent and I love you!! Grade 8 is going to be alot of fun.

Girl, my little question girl. If something crosses your mind you ask the questions. You are such a gentle and loving little girl. You have grown up so much this past summer. I can't believe that you are already in Grade 3. I am thrilled to be watching you grow and explore the world around you!! I love you!!

Girl #2, oh Girl #2, you are a joy! Already 3 years old, where does the time go? The first day of school is tough for you because you are losing your playmates as they head back to school. Your days are now filled with just mommy and Girl #3. I love you my little dancing star!!

My little wee Girl #3!! No mother has ever been blessed with a child as sweet or happy as you!! People think I'm crazy for having 4 children but you have been a glorious addition to our lives. I'm excited to watch you grow. But don't grow up too fast on Mommy! I love you my little one!!
Click the Upload/Submit button

Watch the bottom left corner.. there is comments in the status bar that says "Redirecting...... null...."

Eventually it just changes to ERROR ON PAGE with nothing else to explain what the error is.

It does not upload the photo.

I have tried to pinpoint a character that is causing this, but none are. It seems to be the length of the description (ON THE FIRST PAGE ONLY, AND ONLY IN IE) that is causing an issue.

If I wait and add the description to the second page, all is well.

First one is Mozilla works fine. Second one is IE and I can post a description but not as long.

I have never seen this so we will have to do some testing but alot of servers have a server uri that limits the number of characters you can post in a get command and I am unsure of IE has some sort of similar filter.

Just so you know, this was not happening before we upgraded. We upgraded on 10/8 to the newest version and this is when the issue started.

Also, it does not happen on the second page, where you also have the option to input the description, only on the first page.

I dont see how this differs from other versions I can only take your word it did not happen with the other versions.

All I know if the desc is passed as a $_GET and if its a $_POST there is not an issue which leads back to a server restriction and I am not sure if IE might have a similar function within there software.

Has this been fixed or is this still a known bug?

I dont ever beleive it was classified as a bug. I do know as I beleive we pointed out some servers have a uri restriction on the amount of data passed in a url

The only way we could counter that persay is to rewrite the whole routine between uploadphoto to bulkupload as a POST not a GET
