In PP 5.5, it seems the option:

Skip upload and process the files in your directory?

Is missing on upload page.

Thanks but it puts the check box there yet it still does not process images in the directory... :-\

Yeah I have notified Michael. The entire bulkupload skipupload function seems missing from 5.5
