Question Can't Sign In to PP Admin ... Cookies?

I have 5.31 working perfectly and integrated with a vB 3.5.4 forum, but when I try to log in to the PP admin, the log in screen ISN'T the vB integrated/UI screen and I am unable to log in to the admin. When I try to sign in, the page refreshes and it sends me back to my main gallery page (which shows the vB integration), but now I am logged out.

Is this a cookie setting? I'm not sure where to go to look or how to fix this, but I need to log into the admin functions of PP. Thanks!

P.S. It used to work and suddenly stopped, not tied to a vB ugrade or anything.

Yes this is cookies check your settings in the settings table setting 171-173 and make sure they are like this

cookie path /

cookie prefix bb

cookie domain blank

Now also in your config-inc.php most notably your issue is the license number is incorrect if it signs you out if log in through photopost thus you need to input the correct license number in that file for vbulletin.

Awesome, thanks! It was the cookie prefix and domain settings.

Your forum and photopost must have cookies set exactly the same.

Try clearing all cookies on your computer make sure the forum and photopost are set as this above and you should be fine.

Cookies?

Hi Chuck,

vb3.6.0, photopost 5.3.1

thanks for the tip, but that's not it. Cookies are now the same in both: /, bb, <blank>. resetting all cookies or switching different broswer has no effect.

if i use admin-login/admin-passwd in adm-index, it tells me i am unknown. if i use the same login/passwd on the pp homepage, it lets me in without problem. the user exists in the vb-database; pp users-table is empty.

i still have trouble with image upload. i set all the user and
usergroups to be able to upload images. now: if i try that as an
unregistered user, it works. if i login and want to upload, it
tells me i have no rights to do that. how can that be?

any help is appreciated.

You need to post urls here if your user does not work and cookies are right are you sure you integrated the applications correctly and your truly integrating with vb3?

Is the vb license number correctly entered into the config file of photopost where noted.

i guess. i followed the instructions that came with photopost.
it recognises users. it displays the images in a block in the forum.
what else can i check?

You need to display your url here and a test login when seeking support and we can see how your cookies are being done.

I would suggest you recheck cookies they are not set as suggested here in this thread plus your vbulletin license number is INCORRECT.

Please make sure cookies are as stated in this thread and you check your config settings and make sure on the vblicense line you enter the correct license number for vb. This is found at the to of your vbulletin config file.

hi chuck,

then i am really at a loss here... the licence number *is* the one i
have in my vb config and index files.

as far as the cookies... in the pp-settings table i have:

line 171 "photopost cookie path": "/"
line 172 "forum cookie prefix": "bb"
line 173 "pp cookie domain": ""

in vb i have the entries in the admin panel

"cookie path": "/"
"cookie domain": ""

in the vb config file i have "misc"/"cookie prefix": "bb"

is there anything else that can influence cookie settings?

sorry to bother you that much, but i really do not understand what
is happening here.

Check to ensure your integrating with vbulletin 3. setting 41 in the photopost settings table should read vb3

Your cookies are fine except I recomment setting the domain to this

.asean-arowana.com

hi chuck,

item 41 is vb3. can vbadvanced cause trouble?

i reset the cookie domain in both vb and pp, cleared all cookies,
but it still does not work.

i can login into pp531/index.php but not into pp531/adm-index.php
with adminlogin/adminpasswd. if you think it will help you check, i
can sent them to you by pm.

i can upload images as unregistered user but not as registered one.

any hints? my boss is getting impatient.

Hi chuck,

are you kidding me? you explicitly wrote *send to me*. i do that. and then, two days later, and only after asking, you tell me to send to "support"?? i though you *are* support.

so which is the exact email i should send the login information to? and please check your chuck@photopost mail. i am sure my mail is there. look for asean-arowana in the subject.
