Image Magicks problem

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, so I'll post anyway.

When I was installing imagemagik on my server, (dedicated server with 1and1) during the final stages I encountered a couple of errors, starting with a permission denied. Other than the errors, everything seemed to be ok. THat was until I have thumbnail isues when uploading images. Now I believe the installation didn't go well, and here is my dilemma:

Should I just try the install again? Or will that mess something up. I'm very inexperienced with shell work. I emailed support at 1and1 but who knows when they'll get back with me. Any input would be appreciated.

well do you have root access? if not then you would use the NON ROOT instructions to compile imagemagick say in your webroot

OK, I think I did it right, but not certain. When uploading an image, this is what I get:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Does this mean I didn't do it right?
