| Upgrading Photopost Pro 4.86 --> 5.31
At the "5.0 --> 5.1" stage of this upgrade I received the following message: Quote:
Warning: unlink(/xyz/a/accountname/htdocs/gallery/adm-userg.php): No such file or directory in /xyz/a/accountname/htdocs/gallery/upgrade.php on line 2100
Warning: unlink(/xyz/a/accountname/htdocs/gallery/adm-approve.php): No such file or directory in /xyz/a/accountname/htdocs/gallery/upgrade.php on line 2101
Warning: unlink(/xyz/a/accountname/htdocs/gallery/adm-db.php): No such file or directory in /xyz/a/accountname/htdocs/gallery/upgrade.php on line 2102
Warning: unlink(/xyz/a/accountname/htdocs/gallery/adm-menu.php): No such file or directory in /xyz/a/accountname/htdocs/gallery/upgrade.php on line 2103
We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later.
| "Please try again later" seems like an odd response. I doubt that the missing files will somehow reappear.
Moreover, when I *did* repeat the "5.0 --> 5.1" upgrade stage "later", as instructed, I saw multiple SQL errors -- attempts to create duplicate columns & keys, etc. The upgrade script is quite apparently attempting database operations that have already been completed.
So what now?
How do I continue this upgrade? Is the "5.0 --> 5.1" stage correctly completed or not? How do I tell? If not, how do I resume the process at the proper point?

Just move on to 5.1-5.2 and you should be fine.

Sounds like you're implying that the 5.1 upgrade is complete and sound.
While the index page displays properly, and individual photos (when clicked upon from either the "recent" or the "random" sections of the index page) display properly, any type of sort, search or category selection yields the following: Quote: |
We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later.
Script:
Query: SELECT c.id,c.catname,c.thumbs,c.cattype,c.parent,c.theme,c.thumbtype, c.sortorder,c.frames,c.intro,c.introtitle,c.introcopy,c.ratingtype,c.takevotes,c.ismember,n.userid FROM categories c LEFT JOIN notify n ON (n.userid='1' AND n.photo=c.id AND n.type=1) WHERE c.id=503
Result: Unknown column 'c.thumbtype' in 'field list'
Database handle: Resource id #21 | Is this the expected behavior of PhotoPost 5.1, attempting to work with vBulletin 3.5.4?
Does this error message change your assessment re: whether I should proceed with 5.1 --> 5.2?
Thanks.

I had a somewhat same issue.
I have a 4.86 DB... Purchased 5.5...
I uploaded the whole zip file to the server, unziped in a NEW directory, copied my data folder over from the old one, and re-config'd the new config files. (I don't like overwritting. Using all new files with the install is much cleaner i think.)
I then run the upgrade script and click the 4.86 link, and it does the data move step, then i go on and when it gets to the 5.0 to 5.1 step, it simply shows the page "unrecoverable try later" (With no errors listed!)
So i read this thread and I did as you said, and just went on, and now after it says all is complete, the main photopost page just says unrecoverable again (After numerous errors of duplicated tables etc)...
I would like to challenge any support staff at photopost to get my newly purchased 5.5 photopost script working by upgrading my 4.86 using the regular documented means, as it simply does not work the way it says it should.

Sent in further info via email, still awaiting reply.
Basically, i have successfully installed PP5.5 straight... That is, without upgrading, the vanilla instal works perfectly with my new ubbt7 without any extra BS at all what-so-ever.
Now, it is clear that the issue i am having here has everything to do with the use of my old database. I wish to upgrade the DB so it works with my ubbt7. It will not upgrade. I have sent the DB in to support.
Will update more for reference as i hear back. thanks
