Installing on local machine

Anyone know why this would happen. I have WAMP running on my local computer...new CLEAN version of vBulletin 3.6 and NOTHING else. I have tried to install PP 5.3 and this happens every time I click on the Step 4 button after setting up the information:

We're sorry, but we encountered an error during the installation process...

Unable to create/write to http://localhost/testing_vb/gallery/data! Check your data directory permissions before continuing.

When you have fixed your permissions Refresh this page to try again.

If you have corrected the error, you may hit GO BACK and try again.

Well is this WINDOWS?

Just right click the directories and make sure IWAM and IUSER and GUESTS have full READ WRITE PERMISSIONS on the folders and their children.

Chuck, I have done all of that except there is no IWAM and ISER and GUEST...only Read Only and Hidden attibutes for the data folder. The READ ONLY is checked so I clear IT and apply the changes to the subfolders as well, ONLY to have it come back READ ONLY again. However, even the gallery folder says it is READ ONLY yet when I make changes to Step 2 (config-inc.php), it will write to it. It has populated the database with the tables, but can't get past that next step after configuring Step 4.

You have to be running a webserver like IIS or Bigapache or Apache etc. If your running a webserver on your machine you will have say if this is windows a security tab when you right click a folder and then you set these permissions accordingly. In Linux you set permissions in ftp by right clicking the folders and making them 777, In windows your right click the folder and make everyone able to READ WRITE AND EXECUTE ON THOSE FOLDERS. It would appear to me you do not have a webserver setup.
