Question directory structure question

Hi,

I'm going to upload photopost integrating into my vB 3.5.4.
My forums directory structure is forumname.com/forum

The installation instruction does not tell me whether I have to install into the
root or into the forum's directory !

Should I upload like this:
forumname.com/photopost
or like this:
forumname.com/forum/photopost

regards,
Andreas

You can install in either.
Here's how I have it:

mydomain.com/forums (forums)
mydomain.com/gallery (photopost)
mydomain.com/classfieds (PP Classifieds)
mydomain.com/reviews (Reviewpost)

You see, it is very easy. Alls you have to do is set your paths correctly and it shall work.

You don't have to use the directory name "photopost" either. You can change it to whatever you want. Just be sure your path is set correctly in your config file.

Either way however, if you have a custom skin for VB you will need to pay attention to the image paths and menu paths. In some skins it is necessary to either hard code actual paths to images and menu items in your vb templates and/or add the skin into your images directory in your PhotoPost product.

Okay, that's fine. I'm going to use 'gallery' too.

But there's one my thing to ask: The installation instruction says
Quote:
Be sure to FTP all .php and .sql files into the photopost directory. All permissions for .php and .sql files should be set to chmod 644.
That's pretty clear, but in my just unzipped photopost folder there are only .php-files, but no .sql-files!

One more: The installation instruction says
Quote:
directories called "images", "uploads", "help", "languages", "stylesheets" and "data"
But in my photopost-folder there are nine directories, the above six and three more called "documentation", "forums" and "templates". Do I have to upload these too?

Andreas

You would upload all the folders and files extracted by the photopost zip and chmod the files and folders meantioned here and then run install.
