CGI error when trying to upload file

chuck -
I was getting this error message with imagemagik,
CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

searching the forum, seemed your suggestion to others was switch to GD2. http://www.photopost.com/forum/showt...09#post1160009

I tried changing the Imaging Integration to GD2 (which is what my server is running), but still get the same error message

Yep your on a windows server setting permissions to READ WRITE EXECUTE on the uploads and data directory should get things straightened out for you.

Exclamation Still Having The CGI Error On Uploads

did the re-install as you reccomended with photopost in same domain as vB. all ok tru end of install, then when gop to the admin panel link,

Problem 1:
.if I try to log in from PP admin panel, I get these errors:

Warning: login(c:\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\forums\ppost/templates/menubar.tmpl): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in c:\XXXXXXXX\forums\ppost\pp-inc.php on line 2917

Warning: login(): Failed opening 'c:\XXXXXXXXXXXXXX\forums\ppost/templates/menubar.tmpl' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in c:\xxxxxxxxxxxxx\forums\ppost\pp-inc.php on line 2917

BUT, if I'm logged into vB and bring up the admin page, I am already logged in and dont get the above error

cookies now holding loginacross platforms fine, dont get logged out when I go from PP to vB as before.

Problem 2

When I try to upload from my PP screen as a logged in user, I get the CGI error:

CGI ErrorThe specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

. changed the data and uploads subdirectories to Everyone R/W/X permissions, no good
. changed the entire Photopost directory to Everyone R/W/X permissions, no good
. tried the entire photopost directory set to Full Permissions for "Everyone", still get the error

I sent you the pic via PM

NOTE THAT the /c:/xxxxxxxx/uploads/1 directory contains the pics I tried to upload in spite of the above message, but the member profile shows Zero pics.

please advise.
thanks
t

1. Your missing that template it would appear

Also your path you want to check. You should be using forward slashes for paths not backslashes

2. If you still get CGI errors then permissions can not be set correctly. I would suggest you double check all your path statements to ensure they are correct and then ask your host to assist in making sure those two directories are read write execute.

I've done, and checked with phone tech support, they verify that those (photopost/data, photopost/uploads) directories are all permissions.

I've sent a support ticket as well with instructions on reproducing the error perhaps that will help.

is permissions on those 2 dirs the only thing that would cause the CGI error above when using GD2 as image library?

if they dont resolve with me, next step is I'll purchase your install service.

thanks

You can add "If PP doesnt like your jpegtran" to your list of causes for the CGI error.

The reason for the inconsistent CGI error, was that gif files uploaded fine (just didnt try maney of them at first to notice a pattern).

But jpg's cause the error. I removed the path to jpegtran in admin global options (i think thats where) and now jpg's upload as well.

Now, in order to fix this, what is the format of the path so I have it correct? I tried different variations (end slah, no end slash, fwd slash bck slash, include the full file name as well, etc) to no avail. I've asked host tech support to give me the path to their version next.

photoshop?

Basically if you install jpegtran on the server or your host does and you want to use jpegtran you simply install the path it is located otherwise leave the setting blank.
