Data 500 permissions

Hi there,

I have completed my new install and tested some uploads into categories.

My uploads would not work in members directory category and I got fopen errors on the subfolders of the 500 directory.

I have chmod the security permissions to 777, is this ok?

I also have other subfolders of the 1 and 2 folder in data which are also 755.

The other folders in data which do not have subfolders are ok at 777.

What advise would you also offer with regards to allowance on image sizes etc. for a large forum.

many thanks for reading

Yes according to the install docs your uploads and data directories at every level should be 777

As far as image sizes I use this

max height 768
max width 1024
medium trigger 500
thumbnail 100
image quality 70
