Cookie path for a sub-folder

I'm looking at installing PP under a sub-folder and am not sure what to use as / for the cookie path. I take it one of the settings below needs to be changed in the config file?

Quote:
$cookie_path = "/";
$cookie_domain = ".mydomain.com";
The reason for the sub-folder is because i'm doing a test/development install to make sure the upgrade works out ok.

You want cookie path to be / to be usable throughout the site and .domain.com is correct also so it will work with all subdomains.

But will it (the cookies) clash with my existing forum/gallery?

I want to set this second forum/gallery as a test so I can trial the upgrade before I take my live site down for the real upgrade.

well if the test gallery is also using the forum so you want the cookies to match. You will simply be logged into all 3 apps. Should pose no issue just make sure the test install has a different table prefix from the main install.
