Chuck,

I was piece mealing the upgrade - apply changes according to the Changed File log. But after you pointed out, I uploaded ALL files from the package.

The only thing that is missing is the "Previous Image" and "Next Image" links next to Slide Show link. For this issue, I have checked showphoto php and template file, and pp-inc.php and language English file, everything is correct.

I think the template file for VBEnhanced works fine, but for others there is something not entirely correct. Could you please kindly take a look at the displayphoto.tmpl I emailed you?
You where the one who said that which is why I pointed out there is no template by that name

Now I think we need to figure out why you are the only person reporting an issue with this and the only site that has this issue. Here in the showphoto.tmpl is this. I clearly see $prevlink and $nextlink there.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Now in showphoto.php is this.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
If I had to venture a guess try changing $id to $ids

Chuck,

You are incredible. That corrected the problem: missing "Previous Image" and "Next Image" link next to the Slide Show link above the photo display.

Why changing $id to $ids needs to be applied on my code, while others work fine?

Thanks for all your patience and kind help.

I can not say but $ids is a correct change as that is the variable used so no worries you got the right fix

PS. I am not incredible LOL I just know the code inside and out and up and back and about every which way there is. I live this code everyday so it is easy to come up with the fix in that scenerio.

For the record, I had the same problem having just upgraded yesterday. Adding the 's' did the trick.

I downloaded yesterday night also and had the same issue as above, but the "s" did the trick for me too.

Sorry to follow up on an old thread. I was just told by our members that the Previous and Next links functions are backward. When they click on Previous, it takes them to the next photo, and when they click on Next, it takes them to the previous photo. How can we fix this?

Thanks for your help.

Which ones are you referring to? This thread is about the next and prev links and post 22 should clear that up.

Yup, missus upgraded to 5.3 before going on vacation and I see there ain't no Next /Previous links.
Can you highlight in bold what needs to be changed so she can fix it next week.
Thanks,
Mark

Chuck,

I am referring to the exactly same Previous and Next links. When you click on Previous link, it takes you to the Next photo, and vice versa. So it is backward.

The Next/Previous is working correctly at the PhotoPost Gallery

http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s...oto/6470/cat/5

But this is not how our 5.31 upgrade is working

Have you fixed this or... ?

I know this was working as above prior to 5.3

Then we lost Next/Previous in 5.3 ...

Now when you click on first pic in a category ...
a) Slide Show link doesn't show
b) Directional (<<) shows in opposite direction to viewing sequence

Second pic ...
a) Slide Show link does show
b) directionals ( << and >>) actually take you in the opposite direction

Hoping this can be resolved asap as is totally confusing
Thanks,
Mark

next previous links switched

I fixed the < previous next> problem by switching the next and prev links
in showphoto.tmpl

Thanks for at least partially fixing this Carole.
SlideShow is still not showing on the first pic view.

Chuck I noticed at reeftalk that your directional arrows >> Next Prev links are also leading to the pics in the opposite directions of >>

Will await further instructions from you on fix.

good night zzzzzzzz

Next Image>> is directing to the next image to the right, but clicking on this takes you to the pic on the left in the latest upgrade.

At the PhotoPost Gallery it works as it used to.

This has nothing to do with what the concept of what "Next" and "Previous" means.

Many moons ago I discussed this issue of the definition of Next and Previous.
ie, my feeling was that if the default order of pics is Descending, then the latest pic (to the left) should be "Next Image" , and previously uploaded pics (to the right) should be called "Previous Image".

I overcame this matter of opinion by just removing the Next/Previous words and rely on the directional arrows next to these words as the direction that clicking on these buttons would take you to.

However as pointed above, the directional arrows in the latest upgrade now
take you in the opposite direction of the directional arrows.

next and previous are working right if I look at it

Say I am on photo 216 and I click previous I got to say 215 and if I click next I go to 217

How is this wrong?

If your talking the actual thumbnails that is not related to the next prev links which this thread is about. Is that what your referring to?

Yes, I'm referring to the next/previous links.
(this has nothing to do with photo ID #)

Your site ...
http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=106

Click on Next and look at the filmstrip, ie what direction Next is taking you.

Now look at the thumbs in the filmstrip and the Next actually goes in the opposite direction.

------------
PhotoPost gallery ...
http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s...oto/6355/cat/5
Here they are following in the right direction

Right, look at the thumbnails on the film strip while you click on the NEXT link. It is showing the photos backward direction.
