You need to decide whether you want permanent or on the fly watermarks.

If you want on the fly you set in watermark options watermark NO and fill in the server path to the watermark and in Admin => Show Photo Options turn on the on the fly watermarks

Now if you want permanent watermarks you need to turn watermarking ON in watermarking options and set the path you then go to Admin => Edit Categories and set the usergroups in permissions that get there images watermarked.

Still no dice, I wanted to use on the fly. Another issue I'm having is that, when I click on any pic from my gallery I get a blank screen what could have affected this?

well if you can not view a picture you can not tell if watermarking is working or not

Maybe you have a corrupt file. Try downloading a fresh copy from your members area and update things and see where you stand.

I can see the pics, but when I click on the pics to make them larger that's when they go blank.
