PP's links for imagemagick bad

I'm trying to get photopost working..

At your web instruction page: http://www.photopost.com/howtoinstall-php.html

It has links to all IM files. I"ve downloaded and tried to use these files but for some reason they are named *.tar.tar all the files have this kind of weird name. I tried renaming to *.tar.gz and unzipping but that didn't work.

I need these files to continue my installation.
Any ideas?

Try to download the link in your post. The filename ends with tar.tar

I'll try again and rename it, but it is very confusing. Why not name it and the other files correctly. They all end it tar.tar.

I went ahead and downloaded the IM file you pointed to. Renamed it with a gz extention and still get an error. The error is:
invalid compressed data - crc error and
invalid compressed data - length error

I get this when trying gunzip and gzip -d
...so is it me or is there an error with the IM file?

It downloads absolutely fine and works fine. I use the depositories we have here when I compile Imagemagick on customers servers. I am the installer and use these all the time.

Please elaborate on how you do it. Do you rename the files first or what?

I dont rename anything. If I download the file as noted from the browser it is fine.

Try some other browser and see what you get if your using some non main stream browser.

Thanks! I was using IE. duh!
With firefox at least the names come out with a .gz extention. Feel like I'm getting somewhere.
So I download again, and use WinSCP to copy the files to my RH box. I get the same error. Does WinSCP transfer in ascii?

I can't FTP into this box (but it is a test box) ...I'll try ftp later tonight.

I use WinSCP all the time. It should by default auto set what type of file it is and change as necessary unless you are overwriting that setting. Check your setup for that.
