Fresh Install - not updating database
 

Ok...
Running windows 2003 with apache webserver on separate port (8080)
Photopost version: 5.3
PHP: 5.1.1
MySql: 4.1.16


I'm trying to integrate with vb3.

I know it's connecting to the database ok because it adds all of the new tables to my vb database. However, when going through the rest of the configuration steps, it's almost as if it's not updating the database properly and I can't login. When I look at the database after installation, all of the settings are default settings - ie: domain = http://www.mydomain.com (not updating to my actual domain http://www.3scrapateers.com:8080)

I get the installation complete page and then click to go to adm-index.php - which works fine.
However, when I actually try to login, and hit sumit, I am taken to http://www.domain.com/photopost/misc.php with a
Not Found

The requested URL /photopost/misc.php was not found on this server

Apache Server at www.domain.com Port 80

I'm assuming that it's having a problem with the port but I how do I fix this?

HMM Are there any mysql errors in your logs?

I don't see why it would create the tables but not update things. You can manually use phpmyadmin or similar to view the settings table to match what the settings should be but I dont find photopost on your server.

I've gone through and manually updated the database with the correct settings and it's still not working correctly at all.

where on my server are you looking? It "should" be at http://www.3scrapateers.com:8080/gallerypp

Check your config-int.php file and make sure you have the correct server path to the vbulletin forums.

I think I may have confused you because in my post above I was just saying that when I try to login, which my login is located at:
http://www.3scrapateers.com:8080/gal.../adm-index.php

Before I did the manual configurations in the database, I was taken to "http://www.domain.com/photopost/misc.php" and not anything relating to my site - "http://www.domain.com/photopost/misc.php" was simply the default value placed in my database which was not updated automatically during the installation.

However, now that I have manually updated the paths in the database, when I try to login, I am taken to http://www.3scrapateers.com:8080/gallerypp/misc.php
but this just gives me a blank page.

Can I post my paths here safely that I have in my config-int.php? I've tried several variations and still not working.

try this first to be sure its your path settings

turn off the 3 vb integration settings in that file config-int.php and see if the page loads.

ok...I would assume it's my path settings because I get invalid gallery username login when I'm trying to login after setting those settings to no - because I'm trying to login with my admin login info that I use for vbulletin.

If you get invalid login I would suspect your vblicense number is incorrect and or your cookie prefix. These need to be right to login

You can correct the cookie prefix to bb in the settings table entry 172 using phpmyadmin and edit your config-inc.php file to make sure you set the $vblicense variable to your vb license number not customer number

Well, right now, I'm getting an invalid login because I have disabled the vbulletin integration per the previous instructions and the username/password that I'm entering is what I'm registered with vbulletin since my account there also has administration permissions. What I'm having troubles with is the paths as it's not very well documented whether it needs trailing slashes on some of them or not.

I would like to post the paths here if it's safe to do so, so that you can verify that they are correct. I've tried several different variations and they were not working correctly.

Now you would not get an invalid login from disabling the integration. You only disable the enhanced features. login would still work if the information I posted is correct as the license and cookie prefix are written into the password cookie and yours is not matching vb hense invalid login.

Search - which takes me here:

and Profile which takes me here:

I'm not given the login/logout options at all

Your not a valid admin okay view your photopost database and make sure there is a usergroup entry in the usergroups table with a groupid of 6 and cpaccess set to 1 named Administrators if not go ahead and insert one.

Woohooo - we're making progress! I am now logged into the PP admin area. However, when I click on back to user index, I get a blank page which should be my gallery index page:

And it still comes back to what I said in a previous post you need to post the proper server path to your forums in edit integration settings server path to vb.

Double check this path statement and you should be good. By the way you can hit refresh usergroups within the usergroups editor to get the rest of the vb3 groups and set permissions accordingly

ok...it was all about a slash in the wrong place. I can get to the gallery homepage now - Thank you!!!!
I haven't tried to post anything yet. I was previously running vbgallery and wish to use the import script to add all of my images back. Is there anything I should be aware of seeing as how my gallery is on port 8080?

I don't know that could be an issue maybe why you had trouble updating things.

ok...the images did not import. the vbgallery script never asked me to enter any information although looking at the script, I know it should have. As soon as I set my browser to http://www.3scrapateers.com:8080/gallerypp/vbag.php, it went to a blank white screen that just had in the top left corner. I clicked here and it went to the next step, always listing that it was importing 1... please wait.
When it ended on import complete, I went in and of course, there were no images imported since it didn't know where to import them from.

So, I tried uploading a photo and this is the error that was returned.
I'm truly at a loss here.

I'm still not positive my paths are correct whether the / should be \ or whether they should have a trailing / or \ on the end.

I've tested mogrify and it's working fine.

They should always be forward slashes /

You have entered wrong database info etc if your the importer did not work as expected.

what can I post here so you can let me know where I went wrong?

well you dont want to post that public but what you need to do is follow the directions of the importer.

You upload the files chmod the vbag.cnf.php file to 777 and run the file in the browser. You answer all the database info for vbag and photopost correctly along with table prefixes and correct server paths to each data directory and the importer will work fine.
