| Image Uploading Errors
For many, many months... we have been having errors with this software. I have upped the memory limit multiple times and installed the "fix" for the errors that look like this:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 11904 bytes) in /home/virtual/site85/fst/var/www/html/blabpics/image-inc.php on line 81
To try and fix this, I offered up an image and asked all of the individuals who are having the above error to try and upload the picture that I had provided, thinking that I'd rule out one of the many variables.
One of the users who has the proper permissions to post images, [quote]got this error:
Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg
(): '/home/virtual/site85/fst/var/www/html/blabpics/uploads/308/IMG_0042.JPG' is not a valid JPEG file in homevirtualsite85fstvarwwwhtmlblabpicsimage-inc.php on line 81
Is the software taking issue with her extension? I have asked her to email me the image so I can take a look at it.

The issue is one of using GD2 which is part of PHP and uses PHP memory. If you really want to get into processing large images you want to use Imagemagick.
I would point you to the ini_set tweak but you already know about that

Imagemagick is located at:
/usr/bin/convert
What is the easiest way for me to switch over? I haven't tweaked the software in a while, I'd love a lead as to where to start.
Thanks Chuck!

We use mogrify not convert so check to see if this exists
/usr/bin/mogrify
If it does simply in edit config set the path to mogrify and then in global options you can set your processor to imagemagick

I've switched it to the mogrify command and I still have no problems uploading.
one of the women who have had constant problems with this gallery has tried to upload an image and is getting this error:
Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 1
Command:
"/home/virtual/site85/fst/usr/bin/mogrify" -size 100x75 -quality 100 -geometry 100x75 '/home/virtual/site85/fst/var/www/html/blabpics/data/500/308IMG_0042-thumb.JP
She then attached the picture to her reply in vBulletin which I saved to my desktop. I went in photopost and uploaded the same picture with no problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks again, Chuck!

The only think I see on that error line is the extention is only JP but error code 1 is a permissions error. Is her uploads directory 777?

/home/virtual/site85/fst/var/www/html/blabpics/uploads/308 would be per specific directory.
Have you tried clearing out her uploads directory and checking the permissions and have you tried uploading her file?

Okay well if she uploaded she should have an uploads directory and if the uploads directory is 777 it would be created automatically. If it did not exist then she can not upload. Check just to be sure safe mode was not turned on on the server.
