Importing from Photopost to Photopost

Okay I have a gallery already set up with all the cats with photos in them. Is it a script that will allow me to transfer all the old data to a freshly installed PP?

Hello

There is no import Photopost to Photopost script I am aware of.

If your trying to clone a site just make sure both versions are the same and backup the settings table on the new install. Dump that database and Restore the old database to the new database. Dump that settings table and import in the new one you just backed up. Copy the data directory to the new install and set permissions.

YOUR DONE.

What do you have for your backup settings?

Have you physically set your backups directory to 777 and set the path in admin?

Is the path to mysqldump correct?

You may need to contact your host to figure out where mysqldump is. Note if your mysql is not local meaning its on another server you can not use the backup utility

phpmyadmin is this

Okay stupid me. The reason I couldn't find the pp_settings is because I had PP installed in a different DB. I have it in the same DB is VB now. So I was able to back it up using phpmyadmin. Inside PP itself, I still can't do a back up. I contact my host and they said that I don't have access mysqldump I hate this host more and more. Now that I'm back on track (I think) let me be clear on your steps:

I'm here now, and I want to be clear on what you mean by dump. Remember I'm a newbie at this. If it's a term rather than another way of saying download, let me know.

and Restore the old database to the new database.
Old DB meaning the one I'm importing from?

Quote:
Dump that settings table
I'm figuring this will be answered above.

and import in the new one you just backed up.
I'm importing the new one meaning the DB from which? lol I got lost somewhere. Lets try saying PP1 and PP2. PP1 being the old PP that I'm importing from and PP2 being the new install.

Sorry I'm acting brandnew today. I just woke up
I know how things can be vague on here so I wanted to break it down for me and all the other newbies.

As in dump the new database and replace it with the old one. Then dump the settings table and restore the new one
