Exclamation Scan Duplicated pictures doesn't work.

I've searched the forum couldn't find the answer.

I've uploaded the same picture 2 times under 2 different count in the same category. Then I used the scan for duplicated picture option in the Database tools but after it scans it. The 2 pictures are still there.

Is this a bug?

Anyone know how to get this work please? It's very hard to search duplicated picture when you have too many photos without this working.

Well you can try this in bold in adm-misc.php line 1388

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
However this is an old function and the filenames are changed when a photo uploaded with the same name is encountered so your not going to find duplicates. Also if your talking optional category uploads there is no second file on disk.

Is it possible to make the database checking photo's hash and remove image like that? Instead of file names?

No it simply checks filenames right next to one another much like the way vb or any other forum has the duplicate post checker. There is no way to compare actual images to actual images. Those types of checks are like windows programs that check the actual image itself and compares.

A programer has wrote a torrent script for my website. And it detects duplicated torrent during upload. It doesn't check the name it checks the hash files I think. Coz even if you rename that torrent file and try to upload it the server would still rejects the duplicated torrent file.

Maybe torrent and picture are different? So there is no way to make script like that for checking duplicated pictures?

Is it possible to add atleast a search by file size option? So it would be easier for moderators and members to look up duplicated photos? I think for all webmaster who are runing gallery all having problem with duplicated photos we would really like a way to solve it.

As stated this option just checks filenames of the previous upload to ensure there is not a duplicate photo posted.

There is no way to check the duplication of a actual photo itself exactly without some external program ran on like windows and such that you see that does a true compare that checks the file data which would be very server intensive.

I see. But the torrent script I bought was able to do that to torrent files.

If it can't do checking during upload I think it should be still possible to do a scan script. Just have to turn off the website or gallery while doing that if it's cpu intensive. I will try to figure it out with the programer. Thanks for the info chuck.
