New Install Errors

I've just installed 5.3 to run with vB3.5.3 and all seemed to go OK, except that I'm getting errors in the admin area - like these ate the top of the screen when I click on the left-menu options

Some menu options don't display errors, but others do.

I just ran the repair and optimise function in vB and it threw up some errors with the pp_ tables:

pp_categories Check Error: Size of indexfile is: 1024 Should be: 3072
pp_categories Check Error: Size of datafile is: 0 Should be: 300
pp_categories Check Error: Corrupt
pp_categories

It looks like it fixed the problem and everything seems to be running with error messages.

If you upgraded recently did you run all applicable upgrades?

Looks to me like you have a corrupt categories table. You can restore from a backup

It was a fresh install, but vB repair and optimise (it's running on my vB database) seems to have sorted out the error.

How do I now generate the category tables properly? At the moment I can't create categories etc in my admin area.

Is it possible to run an uninstall script and try a fresh install again?

What do you mean you can not create categories? Do you have a link to phpinfo and the install?

I've just rolled the site back and started again so it's sorted now.
