Tried to move photopost to a new folder, can't get into the control panel UPDATE: I got the control panel to work now. Ok, here's what happened. I tried moving the folder, and it gave me some errors so I moved it back. I had a control panel problem, but I fixed it. What I'm asking now is, how do I correctly change the photopost folder? When I installed it, I put it in /photopost. I want it to be installed in /somethingelse. When I first tried moving it, I just changed the URLs & Paths under Global Options, and then renamed the folder via FTP, but I got errors, so I rolled it back. Any ideas? Thanks, -Andrew |
You do everything noted in the order above plus you edit the config files and make sure the paths and urls in there are correct. ;) |
Ok, I must have just missed something. I'll try this again in the morning, when I'm not tired. |
Yes you did not edit your config file with the new paths it looks like |
Ok, it works now. So to summerize if anyone ever searches for this, here is what I did: 1) went into phpMyAdmin, opened the photopost database, opened pp_settings, clicked browse, under "setting" renamed everything that originally was "photopost" to "newname" 2) changed the addresses in config-inc.php and config-int.php & uploaded the files 3) renamed the folder via ftp |
Yep, just moved my folder too and had to not only make the config fiel changes as Chuck mentioned, but also the extra data changes within the db. |
Well the steps would be this. 1. Go to Photopost admin global options set the new urls and paths and hit save. 2. edit the config files and correct paths and urls 3. rename the directory 4. sign in and in admin => storage options revert the path to pick up the global options change you did Your way would work if ya wanna do it the harder way ;) |
Renamed Folder Where VB is Installed Hello, I need a little help. What I did was rename the folder whereI have vbulletin installed. For instance /grayhawk to /gsc. Inside of gsc is my gallery folder whereI have always had photopost installed before the folder rename. Now that I renamed my forum folder and my cmps and forum work my gallery sort of works. All the photos as showing as links to the previous directory url before the folder rename. I edited both the config files and pointed them to the new url but it doesn't work. None of the links in my photopost admin panel work and they spit back a file not found. Also there are error messages at the top of the Admin CP: Warning: opendir(/homepages/xx/xxxxxxxx/htdocs/magicalyears/grayhawk/gallery/data/) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /homepages/xx/xxxxxx/htdocs/magicalyears/gsc/gallery/adm-inc.php on line 638 Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /homepages/xx/xxxxx/htdocs/magicalyears/gsc/gallery/adm-inc.php on line 641 Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /homepages/xx/xxxxxx/htdocs/magicalyears/gsc/gallery/adm-inc.php on line 658 PhotoPost Administration So how can I rename my vb folder where my gallery is a sub folder where nothing has changed? What step am I missing? |
Ok I seem to have solved my problem by being impatient. I edited my database and changed the photopost settings directly to reflect the folder name change. All works fine now so far as I can tell. Once I edited the database my photopost admin cp worked again. I then went to Storage Options and reset to default twice and saved. Because I renamed the main VB folder and not the gallery folder the directions which are on this form for relocating the gallery didn't work in my case. I am not sure that in my case there was another way to solve my problem without directly editing the database. If there was I would like to know how to do this for the future. All fixed I hope! LOL |
http://www.photopost.com/forum/photo...rectories.html Yes this thread which is sticked in how do I would help anyone else that stumbled on this thread. Glad you got it sorted |
