New Install -- File not found errors

I've got a new install, you can see it at www.tdpri.com/telephoto. I'm having some problems.

First, I set permissions as per the install instructions, but several of the directories that the instructions said to make 755 needed to be 777 for the install to work.

Next, I have GD 2 installed on the server, but if I set the config to GD2 I get error messages saying "gd 2 must be installed" or something similar and then I don't get any Thumbs. If I make it gd1 then it works.

Lastly, every upload ends up with incorrect urls on the thumbs. The shown URLs like for UBBCODE are correct, but if you click on the thumb or the link you get:
http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/showp...t/500/ppuser/2

But there is no "photo" subdirectory. so you get a page not found error.

First check to see GD2 is compiled with PHP. Your error suggests it is not. You can look in your php info for that in admin.

Next in Admin => Global options turn off spider url's and your links will work.
