Besides you switching integrations your issues have been permissions on files and directories.

Now on the file that gives you a white page how big is it?

Cause if your uploading a file and its large and get a white page I would think your memory for PHP is being exhausted

You can try placing these in pp-inc.php to override the php settings

find this

error_reporting (E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE);

below it add these

ini_set("memory_limit", "32M");
ini_set("max_execution_time", 0);

Hello,

Yeah I think it's a memory thing because I just uploaded a 22kB jpg with no problem but the other file I was trying to upload was 224kB. Is there a way to find out what is the limit from PHP?

If I apply the changes you suggested, will the server crash due to memory allocation problems?

Thanks

Well the changes noted by me only increase the PHP memory. It should not crash anything.

There are two other things to consider should that not work for you.

1. You can try using or installing ImageMagick as GD does use PHP memory so alot of issues with GD are solved by switching to Imagemagick

2. If your having issues with a 224KB file you might want to ask your host if they have in the apache config file or php.conf a variable called LimitBodyRequest set to a small number as this will stop things.

Try the edit that I provided first though.

Hello,

A few questions related to ImageMagick. I found my copy to be installed under /usr/X11R6/bin/. Is this the proper place to have this program installed? I thought X11R6 is like a X server?

I actually only have version 5.4.3 03/05/02 built, which is really outdated. Has there been any reported issues with Photpost using this version? If I want to install the new binary release, can I just simply remove the original files and install the new version as instructed on ImageMagick's website? Not sure if there are other things needed to be done like in Windows (cleaning up registry, etc).

Thanks

You can try using it and see what happens it should work. I compiled my imagemagick on my server there. That is the least common of the 3 normal directories to install but it is fine. If you get a permissions error you can try editing image-inc.php and remove this line twice and then test imagemagick again as older versions may have an issue with this.
