A little nervous before upgrade

Hello,

I'm currently running v 4.86 but I'm about to upgrade to v 5.21. I had a lot of server problems before Christmas, but I finally got moved to a bigger and more stabile server, so I'm sure everything's gonna be OK, but I'm still a little nervous. So if someone could tell me if I've got everything right before I start the upgrade, I'd appreciate it.

I'll do a back-up of the database and make a copy of the data folder on my computer. Then I will upload all the files, except the config-inc file (should I skip the config-int also?) and the uploads and data folders. Then I will run upgrade.php. But what will I have to do when I run upgrade.php? Will it upgrade from v 4.86 to v 5.21 by itself, or will I need to do something more when I hit this step? I'd appreciate if someone could please tell me what exactly I need to do when I get there.

I have about 10,000 pictures in my gallery now. It's not much compared to many galleries, but for me and my users it's a lot, and I would hate for something to go wrong, so that's why I'd like to be as prepared as I can for this upgrade (and I need to run it, because we are experiencing some bugs).

TIA!

Just make your backups and upload all files except the config file and run the upgrade script running every upgrade from 4.85 forward ONCE.

Thats it!

I'm finally ready to do my update (I have been putting it off for too long now). I'm running phpbb2 2.0.17. Do I need to upgrade my board first, or is it just in the newest version of PP the 2.0.18 issues exist? My upgrade will be from 4.86 to 5.21. I need to upgrade to 2.0.18, but I have to do it manually because I have a heavily modded board, so I'm hoping I won't have to do it right now (another big upgrade I have been putting off).

Don't know why I'm so nervous about this upgrade, becuse I edit files and do other upgrades all the time on my website... guess I'm just nervous about messing up all the pics.

Thanks again for all your help!

You would need to upgrade your phpBB board first and then upgrade Photopost

Just make sure to do backups before upgrading
