Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this .... problem :(

Hello, I am trying to install photopost pro 4.8.1 on a new server I got hold of.. but when I try to open install.php in the browser, I get this error :

Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in /export/home/vorlon/sites/salve.com/gallery/install.php on line 31

what does this mean? never seen it before when I have installed... and I have done what is listed in the "installation guide" .

Please anyone?

well, if I could upgrade php, I would, but I am not the admin on the server, so I have no chance of doing something like that
