Help: All my photos have gone after upgrade.

Hi guys - help!

I've just upgraded from 4.8 to 5.2 and it seemed to go OK. I logged into photopost admin and changed the urls to integrate with a newly upgraded vBulletin and that seemed OK. But ALL my images were red X's, thumbnails said no thumbnail available and just red X's for the big images.

I went back to the admin panel and clicked on rebuild thumbnails and rebuild pretty much everything. Then when I went back to my gallery, everything was rteset to zero - no pictures, nothing.

Look...

http://www.britishblades.com/photopost/index.php

I FTP'd into the site and the images are still in the data directories, but there seems to be a whole lot of new directories.

What is going on here?

It's been a long time since I upgraded photopost, but I think I followed the instructions properly.

one question though, on rooting around my data directories (all the pictures seem to be there), I noticed the index.html file is blank. This could be because I overwrote it during the upgrade. Would this be why my gallery is not indexing the pictures?

If so, is there anyway to rebuild index.php?

Hello basically step3 of the 485 upgrade it would seem you ran more than once which is why you had red x's ( images where renamed with userid on it more than once) and when you rebuilt the images which you should not have done they where deleted which is a normal action if an image no longer exists.

There is nothing you can do to get the images back unless you have a sql backup.

Did you do an sql backup like the upgrade instructions state to do before upgrading?

If you have one then do this

Restore the photos table and then rerun the upgrade script

You be fine then.

You can redownload the data directory and then you can reupload the files one at a time. As admin you can upload as another user so the numeric identifer on the front of the photos should tell you who the user is

Given some time you can reconstruct the gallery

Nice to know it can be done, but that'd be a couple of thousand photos and an awful lot of work.

I guess I have a purged gallery.
