large img or bulk uploads - page cannot be displayed

When I try to load a large image with dimensions like 3600x2400 or do bulk image uploads of even smaller images, it hangs for a while and I get "page cannot be displayed". This is after a new install (today) w/ a vb3 integration. Smaller, individual images work fine. Anything I can check? We are able to load images smaller in dimension that are just over 1mb in file size and it works fine, so I'm not able to narrow the problem down too much.

Thanks!

PHP settings by default only allow 2mb max file upload size so if your trying to upload files larger than that you might get this issue as php is stopping hense the program aborts.

Right, but like I said... my test image is only 640kb and it fails every time. A similar file that is much smaller in dimension size works fine.

FWIW, I also have it set in admin to resize images that have dimensions outside the acceptable range.

My admin's going to check some more settings later but I just wanted to point out that none of the files I'm uploading individually are even 1mb in size. The bulk upload exceeds the 2mb point, I'm sure but...

Your missing the point here. Image Dimension and Image Filesize are totally separate things here

If it exceeds 2MB your not going to be able to upload period without adjusting the php.ini file

Chuck... no, I'm not missing the point. I'm giving you the facts. I'm a web developer by profession. I understand the difference between file size and dimension. We'll just troubleshoot it on our own.

Only other thing for you to check is the php.conf or apache configuration and check the size of LimitBodyRequest
