Small problem after upgrade to 5.21 (black thumbnails)

After I upgraded from 4.86 to 5.21 the thumbnails in my member galleries and the first catagory are black, the pics work, just not the thumbs, and the other 7 categories that I have the thumbs work fine.
I reran rebuild thumbnails etc. and it looks like the directory where the thumbnails should be is empty. Maybe some of the thumbs didn't get moved during the upgrade, is there a way to rerun that part of the upgrade where the thumbnails get moved or a way to do it manually?
