I dont know where to look
The info in configinc has to be right since the gallery works
But no matter what upgrade link I try it just sits there with no response
I tried both IE and Firefox
was hoping for an error message or some clue where to look

I think its a permission issue - The files are all 644 BUT back then the admin needed to write to config inc - Im reuploading the new files to try the upgrade again ....
Well thats not it - what could be wrong that prevents any of the upgrade links from completeing ? Files are all 777 now so thats not it
Im at a loss .... Next thing to do is delete the folder and reinstall

Nope of them work??
We grab the variables even if register globals is off Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Try setting in php.ini the register globals to ON

Chuck
this server has like 6 licensed copies of PP running on it so its unlikely to be a php setting. There is something weird about this install.
I just removed all the legacy files and uploaded fresh 5.21 files
4.67 predates the configint stuff but the upgrade is still asking for it
The configinc file has to have the correct database info in it since the gallery works at his version.
There has to be something strange about the install or the permissions or the database or something.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Your telling me none of the upgrades work so is register globals on or off on the server?
I would try also deleting upgrade.php and upload a fresh one from 5.21

none of the version links off upgrade.php seem to work
just checked register globals is on
I just re downloaded the package and replaced upgrade.php
its gets to here Quote:
Welcome to PhotoPost Upgrade
This install script will upgrade your 4.6.7 release. Only run this upgrade if you have the 4.6.7 version of the database in place (either by previous upgrades or if upgrading in order to the latest).
Proceed to Upgrade -->
| and nothing happens after that - I can see in the file it should give me an error if it cant connect to the database but it just does nothing
There are 5 or 6 other copies of PP running just fine on the server but I doubt any are as out of date as this one ...

I have upgraded much older photopost's than this with no problems. Do any of the upgrades run?
Your sure all the new files are uploaded both config files all php files and templates etc?
What site are you talking about here all your sites listed in the members area seem to be running new versions

What site are you talking about here all your sites listed in the members area seem to be running new versions | I share the server with a freind and I am trying to upgrade his installs
I upgraded the Mercurymarauder site ( on same server ) yesterday no problem - went quick
Today the mercurycougar.net site wont upgrade - None of the upgrade links off the upgrade.php page seem to work
I did a bare metal install just a few minutes ago all new files
I have tried both new format config files and old format - Ill try the new format one more time. Nope - no change

So the install.php links worked, but the upgrade.php links are not working - right?

I just ran thru the install
It wiped out all the config and photos - thank god it was a test install and database
But yes the install went fine
In couple hours I ll copy the live data over and dump the installed database and reimport the live stuff to test upgrade again

Well, the easy way would be to try and figure out why the upgrade.php links don't work. But if you are already going down this path, then I'm not sure if you want me to try and resolve this or not?

Hello
Yes as Michael stated you can email on of us details to see why the upgrade does not work on your server. This would be easiest

Silver 2000, did you ever fix this? I have the exact same problem upgrading from 4.7. The "Proceed to Upgrade -->" link doesn't work. The progress bar moves for a second but nothing else happens. No error message. Nothing.
Did anyone figure this out? Permissions for /data are 777 and I reloaded a fresh copy of install.php.

Same problem here going from v4.86 to v5.21
Once I hit Proceed to Upgrade -->
it goes to a blank white screen on the following URL http://domain.com/upgrade.php?upgrade=485&step=1
then nothing else happens.
Same results on 2 different servers, and many fresh download of files.
I am upzipping them on the server, so no problems with FTP upload types.
