| Install successful (no errors) But Admin CP will not display
Hello. I'm doing a fresh install of photopost. The install runs fine and there are no errors. Each part of the install script seems to work fine. In fact, after the install is complete, the galleries do come up if I go to photopost/index.php without any problem.
However for some reason, the admin control panel absolutely will NOT display. I get page not found errors in both frames instead whenever I try to invoke adm-index.php: I checked the code of the page in the two frame it is trying to create and it seems clear that it's looking for adm-misc.php with slightly different parms for each window but cannot find it. Yet when I look at the photopost directory it's clear that file IS there. Permissions on it and all other PHP files are 644 as directed in the instructions.
I have deleted and reinstalled the complete system and all of the database tables several times. And I have double and triple-checked permissions each time as well. But the results are always the same. The galleries themselves come up. But the admin control panel (adm-index.php) will not work.
Can someone tell me exactly what gives here?
Thanks

Hello sounds to me that you have forgotten on install to enter the correct cookie prefix which is located in your vbulletin config file

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but no. The vBulletin cookie prefix has been correctly set to "bb". I've checked that. As you may recall, I made that mistake when installing the Classifieds and definitely would not make it again on Photopost. Besides it's finding the frames file. It's just not finding the adm-misc utility.
I sent you an email with all of the login details the other day when I was working on the classifieds if you can still find that. The only thing that varies here is the directory where Photopost is installed. If you would care to take a look, you will find that directory at:
66.221.218.52/pp-514/
Any other suggestions?
Best Professional Regards,
Tom Platt

Sorry dont keep emails on solved issues as I get a hundred emails a day
Basically if your running on an IP make sure cookie domain is empty in both apps. Make sure your cookie prefix is set and also make sure your vb license number has been entered in the photopost config

Thanks, Omegatron. The domain name for this site has been repointed now and SteppinOutNewMexico.com is live on my server. But we have not taken the portal live yet. We plan to do that late this week. In the meantime, the portal is accessible at: http://steppinoutnewmexico.com/index.php
That reminds me, you had offered to send me the custom stuff You had running on reeftalk that enables the classifieds and galleries to integrate into vbportal's home page. I'd really appreciate you following up on that as soon as you have a chance. My remaining time until my go-live deadline is passing very quickly here and I've still got lots to do. By Friday this week, there'll be 25,000 newspapers on the streets and in newsstands all over New Mexico ballyhooing this new site. I'd sure as heck like to have all your stuff installed, configured and up and working well before then. Thanks!
I'll try reinstalling the galleries with those parameters and see what happens. I'll report back later.
Thanks very much, Chuck. I appreciate all your help, sir. I know you're a very busy guy too!
Best Professional Regards,
Tom Platt

Is there anyway short of a total reinstall of the app that will allow me to get those parameters stored in the mysql database changed? I do have database admin access on this server. I've tried changing config-inc.php and config-int.php. But it's still no go.
Thanks

Make sure the vblicense is entered in the config-inc.php and edit your photopost settings table settings 171-173 and enter the correct cookie settings.
If you post the gallery url I can tell you what you have set wrong as I just registered a username on your forum

Your portal is all messed up what the deal there? You're looking at the portal with either firefox or netscape. There's a problem there that has to do with those browsers not recognizing the css properly. The guys at vbportal are working on that right now. Try using IE or Opera.
Let me know the gallery url when you get a chance | See my reply above.

If you post the gallery url I can tell you what you have set wrong as I just registered a username on your forum | I believe I have done ALL those things, Chuck. I even went so far as to use mysql to drop all rows in the settings table before doing a fresh reinstall to let that database table's contents be refreshed... but "no go" so far.
On the last 3 reinstall attempts, I'm gettin this mysql error:
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/www/steppinoutnewmexico/pp-514/forums/vb3.php on line 471
The URL for the gallery is http://steppinoutnewmexico.com/pp-514
If you'd like, I'll email you the admin login stuff.
Thanks for the rapid reply.

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/www/steppinoutnewmexico/pp-514/forums/vb3.php on line 25
Couple things
On your install you did not specify the proper vbulletin table prefix either so you need to edit setting 83 in the settings table and place a proper vb3 table prefix
Then in the photopost usergroups table insert a new entry with a groupid of 6 cpaccess set to 1 with a name of Administrators in there
You can then from Photopost admin refresh the usergroups
Or you can elect to do an install and enter all the correct information

They are:
mysql> select id, title, setting from pp_settings where id > 170 and id < 175 order by id;
+-----+-------------------------+--------------------------+
| id | title | setting |
+-----+-------------------------+--------------------------+
| 171 | PhotoPost Cookie Path | / |
| 172 | Forum Cookie Prefix | bb |
| 173 | PhotoPost Cookie Domain | .steppinoutnewmexico.com |
+-----+-------------------------+--------------------------+
4 rows in set (0.00 sec)
And it still does not work, Chuck.

Perhaps I should clarify exactly what's happening here...
I go to the classifieds and login. It accepts my login and sees that I'm the admin. But when I click the admin link, it refuses to display the admin page. Instead, it shows a 2 frame window with page not found messages in each frame.
Does that make a difference?

I see I misspoke in my last post. It's the GALLERY I'm having trouble with. My Classifieds are up and running fine. At least they were an hour ago.
I'll email you the admin login for both the site and for the forums, portal, classifieds and galleries. But the forums, portal, and classifieds work. It's the gallery install I am fighting with now.

Thanks
