New Install - Dir questions and more

First attempt:

I've already attempted it once, got it installed and it was fine to a point where i was trying to edit header etc. I don't know what happened but when i went back to user mode, i get a very ugly looking interface/gallery. The background is white and no borders or anything. When i tried to edit settings and clicked 'saved' i get the I.E page not found error.

The other wierd things was when i click "Home" link, it went to a not found I.E page, saw the url and it says ..../php/index.php.

The instuction didnt say anything about a php folder, so how can the redirect be that?

Now re-installing:

When i unzipped the php Pro all the .sql and .php sits flush along side the other main folders (images, forums etc).

Based on my first attempt, shouldnt there be a folder for the header.html/footer.html to be in?

I really can't say what your doing without the exact steps.

basically you install the application by answering all questions correctly on install.php and having all files uploaded and directories/files CHMOD'd correctly.

To add a header or footer the files must be CHMOD to 666 then you put full server path to them in global options. You will then be able to edit them
