Thumbs down Multimedia upload problems

rant on--
Well, I'm not very satisfied after spending $100 for this software only to have all this dificulty when my free version of copermine never gave me these problems and was way easier to setup.
rant off--

I've just purchased and installed the current version of PhotoPost.

I've setup my usergroups with upload maximums 51200k and a disk limmit 204800k.

I've set the multimedia fileupload limmit to 51200k

I've enabled multimedia uploads

I don't have access to the php.ini file or what ever that the name that is mentioned in all the other posts with the same problem. I am on a shared server through startlogic.com.

the dumb thing is my free copy of copermine had no problem uploading around the 2mb limmit. So how do I go about fixing this? Or how do I go about getting my money back?

Sorry if I sound upset, but after spending $100 and finding out there were "hidden" forums that people wanting to buy this product couldn't see.....

Anyhow, please help, I've very frustrated with this thing.

Thanks,
Rich

by the way, I also FTP'd a 5meg .wmv file on to the site. I pointed the upload interface to it, and it didn't even like that. So the problem surely can't be the PHP upload limmitation? could it?

Uploading a file if php is restricting things to 2mb then you need to ask your host to up the limit or live with that restriction.

Cant comment on coppermine as it should have the same restriction being a php script and bound by the php settings.

Now as far as ftping the file I can help with that if you give me an error or something

thats just it, there is no error reported. it says its updating the pics then, nothing.

it doesn't error, and it doesn't add the .wmv file to my list of pictures. Nor does it create a thumbnail.

edit: I can live with ftp'ing large files, but I still need it to be able to add the ftp'd stuff to my photo gallery.

Well if your trying to do bulkuploads bypassing the http prompt are you checking these on the upload page?

Skip upload and process the files already in your upload directory

Click here to bypass approval process and upload all files in directory

I got it to work using the http prompt thanks!

one more quick question on the "Files should already be in" field.
Can I point that to any folder on my server, for instance /home/mysite/public_html/videos ?

Thanks for being patient and helping.
