Installation issue after logging in first time

I have:
Vbulletin 3.08, VBportal 3.05, Photopost 5.13

portal
http://rocesfamily.com/portal

photopost
http://rocesfamily.com/portal/photopost

vbulletin in install in:
http://rocesfamily.com/portal/forums

After going to the login screen at install I enter in admin login/pw, I get a 404 error with the following URL.
http://rocesfamily.com/portal/cgi-sy...p.cgi/misc.php

if I get past that, I get a plain white screen with some text and links, and all links get the same 404 type errror with the URL http://rocesfamily.com/portal/cgi-sy...p.cgi/misc.php

I don't have a cgi-system folder in the portal directory. is it supposed to create it on the fly? CGI is enabled on the dreamhost.com servers.

Hello

Upon installation you are asked a bunch of stuff like url and paths to the install. The script comes back with what the server suggests.

Now php configured as a cgi can do some whacky things.

You must always upon install double check to ensure what the server is telling you the correct things.

Rerun install and place the correct url to the photopost directory where it asks etc.

http://rocesfamily.com/portal/photopost/ would be the correct url it looks like to me

thanks! that did get the trick done...

I wasn't sure that I was going to be "allowed" to change that, and upon asking a webdev friend of mine he suggested that maybe the cgi-bin directory would be created on the fly which was not happening.

I made that change and now it loads a basic screen, I cannot however log into the gallery section at all even upon registering it's not allowing me. I'm going over my config-int.php now to double check.

thank you again for the very fast reply.

edit: another one of those tricky pointing paths. I found the right one to edit and now can log in.

thanks again!
