Ok, where do I start? (PP 5.13 & IPB 2 - changing over from VB3 + Upgrade)

Ok guys, firstly, I appreciate all help, especially on this....

Last week, I started the process of migrating my 20,000 member strong VB3 forums to Invision Power Board 2.04. That went ok, but I thought at the same time I would update PP. I locked myself out of admin and had all sorts of other problems, after several hours I was able to go through the DB, change all settings to reflect the new IPB install and fixed cookies etc and started running the upgrade scripts... heres where I have run into more problems and have been trying to fix them for a week...

During the upgrade, the script changed the directory structure and I recieved errors during that. I skipped it, moved on and editted my db to reflect the structure changes that I could see made. That was the only error I recieved but I am having the following probs;

'Refresh Usergroups' does not import some groups like my main 'members' group. All settings seem ok and relect the db. (Should forums be 'ib2' or 'ipb2'?)

Uploading images seems screwy. It doesnt seem to want to create a thumb. It uploads the main image and gets all exif etc, but makes no thumb. And when displaying, sometimes it displays only a text link to the image or just displays a big image.

They are the 2 main issues and I think if I can resolve those, I should be ok.

Thanks in advance,

Christian

Hello

I would suggest you relook at what you set. ib2 should be the integration type and as far as the upgrade for our product to work right you need to run the upgrade script from the last full version you had. If you recieved errors during the 485/486 upgrade your data path or permissions are wrong and you need to correct this.

This script needs to be ran there is no way around it as it moves images into the new structure. Now take note step3 should only be ran once so if you did that part only do step1 and 2 of that upgrade

hmmm, ok, so apart from the 485/486 step 3, will re-running other parts damage anything?

And if this helps, I just got emailed this;

Quote:
An error was encountered during execution of the query:

DELETE FROM photo_photoextras WHERE photo=16993

The query returned with an errorcode of:

Table 'skycom_sau.photo_photoextras' doesn't exist

Okay well make sure you run all the upgrades you need to photoextras is a table created on one of the upgrades

Okay your thumbs arent created cause there is something wrong with your processor. If your using Imagemagick try switching to gd

If you still have issues contact your host as this indicates that they have changed something on the server recently breaking your image processor

well take note if you switch integrations you will need to delete every usergroup except admin and make that the proper usergroup which I have already assumed you did and then refresh usergroups. You cant write over groups which are already from the prior integration types since they are cache'd
