problem switching from vb2 to vb3
 

I'm not integrating or anything. I just upgraded my forum from vb2 to vb3 and am trying to switch my gallery over so that login works.

I went into my database and changed "vbversion" from "vb2" to "vb3" (I don't need to change the "optionorder" or the "section" do I?) and I went into the config file and entered my vb3 license number. When you login to my gallery it says login successful, but then when it takes you back to the photopost index, it still shows the login link and wont show the upload photos or the admin link. I cleared the cookies and tried logging in again, but I have the same problem. My photopost install is 5.0.3 and I think I had previously had to have vb2.php changed because of some hack I installed on my vb2 install. I couldn't find my original files for photopost 5.0.3 , but I found them for 5.0.2 and I uploaded the vb2 and vb3.php files to see if that would fix it, but it didn't. I don't know if vb2 and vb3.php files were changed from 5.0.2 to 5.0.3.

What do I need to do to get the login to work for my now vb3 forum? I don't want the integration, just the login to function. Please help.

You would need to make sure the cookie settings match. Most likely things are off right now the cookie prefix should be set to bb in photopost

That was it. I do have one more question, what exactly does integration into a vb3 forum do? Does it just put the recent images table of images on your forum pages/index or is there more to it than that? I was never concerned with it since I was on 2, but now that I have 3 I figured I better at least know.

Hi chuck...

Neither in the 5.13 config-inc.php, nor in the config-int.php files, do I see any option to set the cookies?

I just downloaded the files today from the PhotoPost website...

Am I looking in the right files?

I went into phpmyadmin and added the vb cookie setting, and that allowed me to log in...

I am dealing with a permissions error now in the data directory (even though all the folder are set to 777), when I log into the admi panel, that I am trying to research in this forum before I ask you about it :)

Also, I assume that I will need to rebuild all of my thumbnails, right? (no thumbnails are showing after I upgraded from 4.0 to 5.11)

Make sure your paths are right before you try a rebuild or you will delete all your photo entries

data directory permissions of 777 go for ALL 3 LEVELS

I didn't rebuild anything, yet...

I fixed the permissions issues... now the paths used for my photos are not correct, and photos nor thumbs appear... (but they ARE on my server in the data folders).

For example, the file paths for one photo are:

photos/data/500/32263226322632263226My_wife_at_our_wedding_reception_for_my_family.jpg

It seems that an extra "32263226322632263226" value are in all of the photo links on my PhotoPost user end of the software (but the files in my data folder do not contain the extra "32263226322632263226" before..... :)

Any idea how to fix this?

ah yep you ran step3 of the 486 upgrade 5 times it looks like

You would need to upload a backup of your photos table and then run the upgrade script again.

You mean that I would need to upload to my server the entire backup of my photopost mysql database file from version 4.0??

Will that be o.k. if I currently have files from 5.1 loaded onto my server in my photopost directory?

Is it o.k. that my config file is from 5.1?

So, I would need to just run the upgrade.php script from version 4.0 all the way to 5.1??

I believe I reran the script because I was receiving errors...

Well.... good news so far....

I uploaded my Photopost old DB file to my server, and ran the update script from 4.0 all the way to 5.1, and at least I can see the thumbnails on the front page :)

Now, I think that I need to go back into the table with phpmyadmin and change to cookie settings again....

I had to reinsert the vb3 cookie prefix in the PhotoPost settings table through phpmyadim, but once I did, I could log onto PhotoPost...

But, I could ONLY log out of PhotoPost if I first was logged out of my VB3 software....

Well.... I can log onto both my PP and RP sites now (using the VB3 User DB)...

The only issue is that I cannot log OUT unless I first log out of VB3 :)

The cookie settings seems to be the same for all 3 applications...

(But, I'm happy at least that my users can sign in now).

That behavor suggests your cookie domains are not matched up example one is blank and one is .domain.com

I am moving my website to an upgraded server, and I will check that once I have my databases uploaded and (hopefully) working like new again.
