Address problem data//

Hi,

I'm having an install problem relating to the data directory. Each time I enter the admin area, it displays a safe mode error as it's trying to access data//thumbs, data//medium, etc.. This doesn't seem to have anything to do with safe mode, but with the dual forward slash in the address.

Each time I remove the trailing slash in global options for the full server path, it doesn't do anything (it does not actually change the address or remove the slash), and is visible again after the refresh. I can remove the end slash from the data directory url, but this does nothing to solve the problem.

Any ideas on how to solve this? BTW, the version number is 5.12, although I had the same error with 5.11.

The paths in storage options are similar to those in global options..

The default paths create the error noted above..

/home/virtual/site##/fst/var/www/html/photo/data/
http://www.site.com/photo/data/

I can remove the trailing slash in the url, but can not with the path as it reverts straight back to having the trailing slash.

I have managed to upload a few photos myself and got this in the UBBcode for the photo..

well the trailing slash needs to be in the server path but the url should not have a slash

Removing the url trailing slash in both global and storage seems to have sorted out the ubbcode address for images.. I still receive the same error when entering the admin area though..

Warning: opendir(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 542 is not allowed to access /home/virtual/site##/fst/var/www/html/photo/data//thumbs owned by uid 48

Warning: opendir(/home/virtual/site##/fst/var/www/html/photo/data//thumbs): failed to open dir:

Added note.. The config-int.php file states that you need a url trailing slash, which is in contrast to what you said above..

"// The URL of your photo dir where your images are stored (with / at end)"

You have a link to your php info?

A safe mode warning to me means safe mode is on on the server which has to be off to run Photopost.

Nowhere do we set an extra slash on the path. You issue is the category variable is empty. Maybe caused by your safe mode?

Yep, it was a safe mode error that had to be handled further up the chain as php.ini wasn't effective.. thanks for your help..
