Send e-card watermark not working

Hi,

I am not sure if I fully understand the watermark application (btw: this is a great feature - super feature) or this is an issue, however I really need to understand this feature better before releasing to public. (release 5.11 w vbenhanced)

Question:
1. When I have the options below enabled sending an e-card does not display the watermark. I would like every image sent, uploaded and printed to have a watermark, including sending an e-card. Did I set everything right? Or is this a defect? (watermark is working in all other cases during display, download, etc)

2. How can I achive the following - I want all the images have on the fly watermark, with having the original image be untouched (Will be used for ordering images for paid customers). This way the ordered prints from original files.

3. What is the differnece btw Show Photo Options settings for watermark as compared to Watermark Options?

4. What is the difference btw the Show Photo Option (in Admin) and Image Protection System Options (in Admin) - aren't these the same? What is the difference? I dont' quite understand.

5. When you move the mouse over the image which has watermark enabled and the print, save, email show up, clicking on save will save your watermark.php - is this how it suppose to work?

Sorry, I am a newbee to this and I did search everythread to better understand this but now I am confused. Any help is highly appreciated by this artist

Paul

Hi..

yes an ecard should get sent with a link to the image (with watermark) the image is not actually sent via email, just the link so in theory if the image is watermarked then is should display this for the ecard also, but the 'on the fly image protection' (as mentied above : "Enable watermarking of photos with overlay image?
note: in the setting above yes or no will sitll send-e-card without a watermark")

I believe all images, medium & large will be watermarked if this option is selected, the ordering of prints could come from the original 'untouched' files you have yourself.

the 'Show Photo Options' for watermarking simply tells PP to enable or disable this feature while the 'Watermark Options' gives you various settings for this feature.

The 'Image Protection System Options' are designed to be use for images that will be stored in a location other than the default, if you do not want to use this protection feature then the normal show photo options are provided also if required.

the 'watermark.php' file when you 'save as' or whatever is quite normal, don't panic!

Thank you so much for replying. this already helps but I wanted to be sure I understand correctly some of the items below.

I just tested this out - sent the e-card to my email. I made sure the image had watermark on it. (I have all watermarked images).

Already when I was filling out the information it did not show the watermark.

When visiting the link, it also did not display the watermark.

I checked and only large images were watermarked, thumbnails were not.

I want the system to (in the future) automatically send the image uploaded to vendor for printing. I will not be doing it myself, that is why I want to choose on the fly, rather than embedded watermarks.

What is the advantage of this feature (is this like a vault?) put images to a protected area?

ECards should be displaying with a watermark when on-the-fly are enabled; both when filling in the information and when viewing the ecard itself; if they aren't you should post in the Bugs section with some links so we can look closer. I don't have a system setup like that, so we may need access to yours for some testing.

IPS is for people who want to seperate their original images from the thumbnails/medium images - like a vault - the images can even be located in a password protected area making them much more difficult to get at. By requiring a user to use the watermark system with IPS, images can only be displayed to those users with the proper permissions.
