Can't Upload - Thumbnail Error

I need a little help...it seems none of my members nor myself can upload photos to the gallery anymore. This is the error message we're getting when we try to upload....can anyone help me?

Warning: exec(): Execution of "/usr/local/bin/mogrify" -size 100x98 -quality 70 -geometry 100x98 '/home/thedecor/public_html/gallery/data/500/1momentsofsolitude-thumb.jpg' denied...not in authorized execution directoty in /home/thedecor/public_html/gallery/image-inc.php on line 58

Error creating thumbnail! Error code: -1

Command:

"/usr/local/bin/mogrify" -size 100x98 -quality 70 -geometry 100x98 '/home/thedecor/public_html/gallery/data/500/1momentsofsolitude-thumb.jpg'

It's the first time we have this problem...up until now, we were uploading perfectly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Has your host turned on safe mode??

Your exec function has been disabled hense imagemagick, jpegtran etc can not be used. Try switching the image processor to GD2

I'm sorry, but can you please explain to me how and where to do this? I'm sorry if I'm not very good at this.

I would really appreciate it, thank you.

safe mode is a setting in php.ini

Most people do not have access to edit that file directly but if you do you would edit that file turn safe mode off and save it and then reboot the server.

You have a link to your php info? Have you tried switching to gd2 as I did not see a reply to my previous query on this.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what gd2 is. So I don't know how to switch it.

I'm hosting my site at ipowerweb, so I don't think I would have access to be able to switch it to safe mode, would I?

I've mentioned my problem to them but I have not yet heard a response. It's going on 4 days now that not any of us can post pictures...

What should I do?

In your admin global options select GD2 as your imageprocessor and try uploads instead of selecting imagemagick

I tried this and it worked. Thank you very much for your help. Just so that I know in the future, what exactly was the problem? It always worked when it was set to imagemagick before so why would I need to change it now? I'm asking just so that I understand a little better in case it happens again in the future. Do I just leave it set at gd2 from now on?

More than likely you have an older version of imagemagick installed and it is incompatible with this statement in the imagemagick call
